According to Drilling Contractor, Touchstone Exploration brought its Carapal Ridge 3 well onstream March 28, 2026, tied into the Central block natural gas facility in Trinidad and Tobago. The well is flowing gas and condensate during cleanup, with intermittent peak rates up to 5.7 MMcf/d. Central block gross throughput has climbed from roughly 16 MMcf/d at acquisition to approximately 21.5 MMcf/d following the CR-3 startup. A four-well oil campaign is underway on the WD-8 block, and a booster compressor that completed run testing in Houston is en route to Trinidad, with commissioning targeted for May 2026.

What It Means for Subcontractors

  • Touchstone’s active four-well drilling campaign on WD-8 signals ongoing demand for wellsite services, including directional drilling, wireline, and cementing crews.
  • The booster compressor installation at Cascadura, targeted for May commissioning, creates near-term work for mechanical, instrumentation, and commissioning contractors with international project experience.
  • Companies already supporting Gulf Coast compression and facility projects may find Trinidad opportunities accessible, as the compressor cleared run testing in Houston before shipment.
