About FieldNews
The business of field operations: the crews, contractors, and companies that keep energy and infrastructure moving.
Our Mission
We help subcontractors and service providers across energy, heavy construction, utilities, and facilities management stay informed, make better decisions, and grow their businesses.
Field services is the backbone of energy and infrastructure, yet it's underserved by traditional business media. Most coverage focuses on owners, operators, and majors โ leaving the companies that actually do the work without a dedicated voice.
FieldNews fills that gap.
How FieldNews Works
FieldNews is produced by a small editorial team using an AI-assisted pipeline that we built and supervise. Every day it scans trade publications, regulatory filings, and industry announcements across oil & gas and heavy construction, selects the stories that matter to subcontractors, and drafts coverage under a strict set of editorial rules.
Sourcing standards
Every article names its source publication in the first paragraph and links it in a Sources section. Coverage is grounded in what the source reports โ our pipeline is expressly forbidden from adding facts the source doesn't contain.
Quality gates
Stories from paywalled or thin sources are held for manual review instead of published. A copy editor pass checks every article against its source, and a daily audit catches duplicates and retracts mistakes.
No invented quotes
Quotes appear only when they're verbatim from a source. The same rule applies to our newsletter โ if we can't ground it, we don't print it.
Corrections
Spotted an error? Email hello@fieldnews.net. We correct the article, and material errors are retracted with a redirect to accurate coverage.
