TDI-Brooks Lands Survey Deal for Delfin LNG's Floating Export Port
Delfin LNG has awarded TDI-Brooks a contract to conduct offshore geophysical and geotechnical surveys for its planned floating LNG export terminal off the Louisiana coast, World Oil reports.

TDI-Brooks will act as prime contractor on the survey program, handling geophysical data acquisition directly and managing the geotechnical investigation through subcontractor Tolunay-Wong Engineers (TWE). Geophysical survey work is set to begin in late August using the vessel R/V Brooks McCall, with geotechnical investigations following in late September. The data collected will inform engineering design for the offshore port infrastructure.
The Delfin Deepwater Port Project is positioned to become the first floating LNG (FLNG) export facility in the United States. Itโs planned for a brownfield deepwater port site in the Gulf of Mexico off Louisiana, allowing Delfin to reuse existing infrastructure, including its acquired UTOS pipeline system. Full buildout calls for up to three FLNG vessels with combined liquefaction capacity of roughly 13.2 MMtpa, with the first unit targeted at approximately 4.4 MMtpa, according to World Oil.
