Zephyr Clears Pipeline Integrity Hurdle, Moves Toward First Gas at Utah Paradox Project
According to World Oil, Zephyr Energy has completed an in-line inspection (ILI) of the 20.9-mile pipeline connecting its Powerline Road Gas Plant to the Northwest Pipeline system operated by Williams Companies. The pipeline, owned by Enbridge, was found structurally sound at its current operating pressure, with no repairs required. Four short sections totaling roughly 25 ft were flagged for routine visual inspection ahead of a planned pressure increase to support gas exports, but Enbridge characterized the work as standard practice with no expected impact on first gas timing.
What It Means for Subcontractors
- Rocky Mountain pipeline and inspection contractors operating in southeastern Utah’s Paradox Basin could see near-term work as Enbridge continues infrastructure upgrades to support gas transportation from the field.
- Zephyr is also finalizing gas processing facility design and advancing additional drilling plans, pointing to potential construction and completions work ahead.
- Positive inspection results are supporting farm-out and marketing discussions, which could accelerate the project’s development timeline and broaden the scope of field activity in the region.
