APA Pays $70M for North Slope Infrastructure in Savant Alaska Deal
According to World Oil, APA Corporation has agreed to acquire Savant Alaska, LLC for approximately $70 million in upfront consideration, plus contingent payments tied to future development. The deal adds the Badami production facility (nameplate capacity of roughly 40,000 bopd), the Nutaaq Pipeline (an 80,000-bopd system connecting to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System), and approximately 104,000 gross acres to APA’s eastern North Slope position. Following the close, APA’s total acreage there will reach roughly 487,000 gross acres. The company plans to drill two wells during the 2026-2027 winter season.
What It Means for Subcontractors
- APA plans to begin utilizing acquired infrastructure, including production and field support assets, as early as the upcoming winter drilling season, creating near-term opportunities for field service providers on the North Slope.
- Two wells planned for the 2026-2027 winter season, including one exploration and one appraisal well, signal drilling and completions work ahead for subcontractors with Alaska capabilities.
- APA cited improved development flexibility and reduced future costs as deal drivers, suggesting a sustained multi-year drilling program that could support longer-term contract opportunities in a remote, infrastructure-limited region.
