Three ODOT Bridge Projects Worth $10M Begin This Week Near Tulsa

Three separate Oklahoma Transportation Department bridge rehabilitation projects, worth nearly $10 million combined, get underway this week along US-412 and SH-97 in Sand Springs and West Tulsa, according to OK Energy Today.

The largest of the three, a $6.5 million project, will replace bridge decks and repair substructures on US-412 over Main St. in Sand Springs and over 49th W. Ave. and 33rd W. Ave. in West Tulsa. Lanes will drop to one in each direction over Main St. and two in each direction at the other two crossings, with completion expected by late spring 2027, weather permitting. A separate $3 million-plus project covers the US-412 bridges over 177th W. Ave. in Sand Springs, also targeting deck replacement and substructure repairs through late spring 2027. The third, an approximately $460,000 job, addresses substructure repairs, joint sealing and flood coating on the northbound SH-97/Wilson Ave. bridge over the Arkansas River, with both lanes kept open during weekday morning rush hour and full completion targeted for early 2027.

What It Means for Subcontractors

  • Heavy civil and bridge deck contractors have near-term work across three ODOT packages totaling roughly $10 million, spanning Sand Springs and West Tulsa through spring 2027.
  • Traffic control crews should plan for extended lane reductions on US-412 and SH-97/Wilson Ave., some running into late spring 2027, creating sustained demand for signage, flagging and lane-shift management.
  • Substructure repair, joint sealing and flood coating specialists have an entry point on the smaller $460,000 SH-97 Arkansas River bridge job, which is scheduled to wrap by early 2027.
