Ontario's Top 10 Pre-Bid Highway Projects Led by $6B Highway 413 Corridor

Daily Commercial News has published its ranking of the top 10 pre-bid road and highway projects in Ontario as of August 7, 2026, with the Highway 413 Transportation Corridor leading the pack at a $6 billion project value. The list, compiled by ConstructConnect Project Research, tracks major civil and paving work still in the design stage across the province.

Highway 413 tops the ranking with a 52-km corridor linking York, Peel and Halton regions, including extensions to Highway 410 and Highway 427 and 11 new interchanges. The Marten Falls All Season Community Access Road follows at $1.3 billion for a 184-km route from Marten Falls First Nation. The Bradford Bypass appears twice on the list, split into a Central Contract and East Contract, each valued at $1 billion. Rounding out the top 10 are the Highway 17 expansion between Arnprior and Renfrew ($500 million), Highway 401 eastbound rehabilitation in Toronto ($500 million), the Dundas BRT corridor in Mississauga ($405 million), a Highway 413/410 interchange extension in Brampton ($290 million), and the Lauzon Parkway Interchange in Windsor ($125 million).

What It Means for Subcontractors

  • Heavy civil, paving, and structural subs should prepare for subcontract packages on Highway 413, still in design, given its $6 billion scope covering site work, paving, and bridge/tunnel work across Guelph and multiple GTA-area municipalities.
  • Grading, drainage, and paving contractors in northern Ontario should watch the Marten Falls access road ($1.3 billion) for early works packages tied to its 184-km route from Nakina.
  • Bridge, paving, and interchange subs in the Bradford, Brampton, and Windsor areas should track design-stage progress on the Bradford Bypass contracts, the Highway 413/410 interchange, and the Lauzon Parkway Interchange for upcoming bid releases.
