MaverickX Opens Pleasanton Chemical Facility to Serve Eagle Ford and Permian Operators
According to World Oil, MaverickX began operations in January at a new 10,000-sq-ft production facility in Pleasanton, Texas, expanding output of its PetroX chemical product line for oilfield applications including enhanced oil recovery, water treatment, and metals removal.
Market Impact
The Pleasanton facility is positioned squarely in Eagle Ford country, giving MaverickX a logistics advantage over suppliers shipping from outside the region. Shorter hauls mean faster delivery times and lower transportation costs for operators, a selling point as producers look to tighten field operating budgets.
At full capacity, the site is designed to produce approximately 14 million liters of PetroX chemistry annually, covering applications such as paraffin inhibition, scale removal, sludge remediation, and produced water treatment for reuse. MaverickX says the facility has already hit its initial production capacity and is actively installing additional reactor capacity to push output higher. The company currently employs seven workers at the site and expects to add headcount as production ramps. Beyond South Texas, MaverickX has flagged the Permian Basin as a secondary target market and is evaluating additional production locations to support broader US growth.
What It Means for Subcontractors
- Chemical logistics and hauling demand is growing in South Texas. A new production facility in Pleasanton means regular chemical transport runs to Eagle Ford wellsites. Oilfield trucking and fluid logistics companies operating in the Atascosa, Live Oak, and surrounding counties should be tracking this customer.
- Produced water treatment is a growing work stream. PetroX products include treatments for produced water reuse, a segment seeing increased operator attention as water disposal costs rise and regulatory scrutiny tightens. Service companies already working water handling in the Eagle Ford should understand what chemistry their clients are moving toward.
- Facility expansion means near-term construction and installation contracts. Additional reactor capacity is actively being installed, and MaverickX has signaled plans to scale significantly. Mechanical, piping, and instrumentation subcontractors in the South Texas area should be watching for bid opportunities as the buildout continues.
- Permian Basin expansion is on the roadmap. MaverickX is evaluating additional production sites, which could open logistics and construction work well beyond the Eagle Ford footprint in the coming 12 to 24 months.
