Halliburton Wins Multi-Year Aramco Contract for Jafurah Gas Stimulation Work
Halliburton has landed a multi-year contract from Saudi Aramco to provide integrated stimulation and completion services for unconventional gas development in the Jafurah basin, World Oil reports. The award is part of a broader multi-billion-dollar contract and builds on Halliburtonโs existing drilling, stimulation and completion work across Aramcoโs unconventional plays. Starting in the third quarter of 2026, Halliburton plans to deploy the Kingdomโs first fully integrated intelligent hydraulic fracturing platform, using its OCTIV Auto Frac automation system and Sensori fracturing monitoring services to optimize performance in real time. Rami Yassine, Halliburtonโs president for the Eastern Hemisphere, called the award a milestone building on more than 80 years of operations in Saudi Arabia. To support the ramp-up, Halliburton said it plans to increase investment in local manufacturing, strengthen its supply chain, and expand workforce development initiatives in the Kingdom as Jafurah activity accelerates.
What It Means for Subcontractors
- Firms specializing in hydraulic fracturing support, wellsite automation, and real-time monitoring equipment may find opportunities as Halliburton scales up its OCTIV Auto Frac and Sensori systems across multi-well campaigns starting Q3 2026.
- Halliburtonโs stated plans to expand local manufacturing and supply chain capacity in Saudi Arabia signal potential subcontract packages for fabrication, logistics, and equipment maintenance firms operating in the Kingdom.
- Workforce development initiatives tied to this expansion could open training and staffing contract opportunities for companies supporting completions, stimulation, and E&I trades as Jafurah basin activity ramps up.
