The bypass, which started construction in summer 2025, runs from Highway 4 to Highway 3 at Ron McNeil Line. Once both projects are complete, they will create a direct connection from Highway 401 into St. Thomas, a link intended to support residential, commercial and industrial growth across Elgin County.
The timing lines up with the buildout of PowerCo’s $7-billion gigafactory nearby, a project that has driven infrastructure investment throughout the region.
