Deadline Nears for J. J. Keller's 2026 Safety Professional of the Year Awards
Safety professionals in the U.S. and Canada have until 5 p.m. CST on July 31, 2026, to apply for or nominate someone for the J. J. Keller Safety Professional of the Year (SPOTY) Awards, ISHN reports. Applications go through a form at JJKeller.com/SPOTY. The program, running since 2002, recognizes EHS professionals in three categories based on company size: small, medium, and large. Eligibility is limited to safety professionals whose companies are customers of J. J. Keller. Prize packages can be worth up to $47,200 and include a $1,000 nonprofit donation, a SPOTY plaque, $750 toward J. J. Keller SAFEGEAR PPE, and a choice of one additional benefit such as a Safety Management Suite subscription, a Compliance Network membership, a Training Management Service subscription with a VR headset, or a Leave Manager subscription. Winners will be announced in September 2026 and featured in an October 2026 webcast.
What It Means for Subcontractors
- Field service and construction firms that use J. J. Keller compliance products have until July 31 to nominate their safety leads, a recognition that can help retain EHS staff overseeing OSHA compliance on jobsites.
- Small and mid-sized subcontractors compete in their own size category, leveling the field against larger EPCs and industrial operators when nominating site safety managers or EHS coordinators.
- Winning firms gain practical tools, including e-learning enrollments, hazmat or environmental compliance upgrades, and training platforms, that can directly support crew certification and recordkeeping requirements on active projects.
