Canada, BC Fast-Track Four LNG Projects Under New Pact

According to BOE Report, Prime Minister Mark Carney and BC Premier David Eby signed a Cooperative Prosperity Agreement naming LNG Canada Phase 2, Ksi Lisims LNG, Cedar LNG and Woodfibre LNG as priority projects for accelerated permitting, financing and construction. The deal also backs the North Coast Transmission Line and port expansions at Prince Rupert and Stewart. No timelines or new funding commitments were announced, and the projects remain at varying stages of development.

What It Means for Subcontractors

  • Pipeline, electrical, and marine construction crews should watch for early-stage permitting and site work bids as these four projects move forward.
  • Transmission line expansion work tied to the North Coast Transmission Line could create demand for linemen, civil contractors, and heavy equipment operators.
  • Port infrastructure upgrades at Prince Rupert and Stewart may open contracts for dredging, dock construction, and logistics support services.
