Balfour Beatty Tops Out $385M Grand Hyatt Miami Beach
Balfour Beatty’s U.S. arm has topped out the Grand Hyatt Miami Beach, an 800-room, 17-story hotel adjacent to the Miami Beach Convention Center, Construction Dive reports. The $385 million project, announced July 30, includes 12 floors of guest rooms, 110,000 square feet of meeting and ballroom space across four floors, 17,000 square feet of retail, and a climate-controlled skybridge connecting the hotel directly to the convention center. Balfour Beatty won the contract in 2023 from developers Terra Group and Turnberry, but construction didn’t break ground until April 2025. The milestone comes as the broader hotel construction market has cooled through the second quarter of 2026, though Miami’s hospitality sector has continued recovering post-pandemic.
