According to Drilling Contractor, Axess Group expanded its partnership with Noble Corp through a new Asset Integrity Management contract for the Noble Viking jackup rig operating across Southeast Asia. The deal will deploy multi-skilled rotation teams to provide inspection services supporting operations in the Philippines, Brunei, Papua New Guinea and Malaysia under Axess’ Total Rig Integrity Management framework.

What It Means for Subcontractors

  • Inspection specialists can expect more opportunities as operators consolidate integrity work under comprehensive management frameworks rather than piecemeal contracts
  • Multi-skilled teams are becoming the preferred model, creating demand for technicians cross-trained in multiple inspection disciplines like NDT, rope access, and mechanical services
  • Regional partnerships like this Noble-Axess deal signal operators want fewer vendors managing larger scopes, potentially squeezing out smaller single-service providers
