NASTT Opens Call for 2026 Canadian Project of the Year Award
Trenchless Technology Canada reports that the North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT) is now accepting entries for its 2026 Canadian Project of the Year Award, which honors trenchless projects for technical excellence and innovation across Canada. Eligible projects must be located in Canada or Canadian Territories and completed, or scheduled for completion, since the last No-Dig North conference. Nominations require a current NASTT corporate or individual member. Entries are judged on uniqueness, difficulty of design and construction, innovation, overall impression, and quality of submission. Applicants must submit a detailed online project description covering background, objectives, challenges, design approach, execution, innovation, quality control, risk management and outcomes, along with supporting photos and optional video. Winners will be announced at No-Dig North 2026 in Calgary, Alberta. The submission deadline is Sept. 4, 2026.
What It Means for Subcontractors
- HDD, CIPP rehab and pipe-bursting contractors with completed Canadian jobs can submit a project profile before Sept. 4, 2026, a low-cost way to build a credibility package that owners and engineers can reference during future bid evaluations.
- Firms should start assembling the required materials now, project background, design approach, risk management notes, and clear photo/video documentation, since a polished submission is explicitly part of the judging criteria.
- Winning or being named a finalist ahead of the Calgary announcement gives contractors a marketing asset for pursuing municipal and utility RFPs where trenchless experience and innovation are scored factors.
