Lindsay Construction and Comztar Break Ground on 67,000-Sq-Ft Moncton Industrial Facility

According to the Daily Commercial News, Lindsay Construction and Comztar Commercial Properties have broken ground on a new 67,000-square-foot industrial facility at 80 Frenette Ave. in Moncton’s Caledonia Industrial Park. The energy-efficient building sits on 12 acres, features 31-foot exterior walls and rear loading docks with electric dock levelers, and is designed to exceed Canada’s National Energy Code for Buildings 2020 by 29%. Target completion is early 2027.

What It Means for Subcontractors

  • Atlantic Canada trade and specialty subs should be watching this project closely, as a 67,000-square-foot industrial build with loading dock systems, sprinkler infrastructure, and high-performance envelope work represents meaningful scope across multiple trades.
  • The facility is designed to exceed national energy code requirements, meaning mechanical, electrical, and envelope subcontractors with energy-efficient build experience will be better positioned for this type of work as similar projects grow in the region.
  • The Caledonia Industrial Park already hosts major distribution operators like Walmart, Loblaws, and Irving, signaling continued industrial development momentum in Greater Moncton that could generate follow-on project opportunities.
