Asphalt Zipper's New CTL Reclaimer Attachments Bring Full-Depth Cutting to Compact Equipment

According to Equipment Journal, Asphalt Zipper has unveiled two new low-profile reclaimer models, the 300XLP and 420XLP, built specifically for compact track loaders. Each unit runs a dedicated 130 hp Cummins engine and cuts up to 25 cm deep in a single pass. The 300XLP handles a 36-cm cut width; the 420XLP expands that to 106 cm. “That is unheard of in the industry. Most machines will go a max depth of 6 inches,” said Shane Beck, Western US Territory Manager for Asphalt Zipper.

What It Means for Subcontractors

  • Road and lot maintenance subs already running CTLs can now take on utility trenching, surface milling, and full-depth reclamation without renting large self-contained equipment or waiting on specialty crews.
  • Reusing milled material on-site can cut labor and material costs, improving margins on smaller pavement jobs.
  • Cab-based or remote control operation lets smaller crews manage the attachment safely, with improved line-of-sight built into the low-profile design.
