Array Technologies to Acquire Wire Management Firm AWM for $203M

Solar Power World reports that Array Technologies, a solar tracker manufacturer, is acquiring Affordable Wire Management, a Tempe, Arizona-based provider of wire management and electrical balance-of-system products for utility-scale solar and energy storage projects. The deal is valued at $203 million and is expected to close in 2026.

Array CEO Kevin G. Hostetler said the acquisition broadens the companyโ€™s balance-of-system portfolio and opens growth opportunities in battery energy storage systems and data center markets. AWM designs proprietary wiring solutions and outsources production, according to the report. AWM CEO and co-founder Scott Rand said joining Array gives his team access to greater scale and global reach. This follows Arrayโ€™s acquisition of fixed-tilt racking manufacturer APA Solar Racking last year, per Solar Power World.

What It Means for Subcontractors

  • Electrical and BOS installers sourcing wire management products through AWM should confirm whether existing supply agreements, pricing, or lead times change once the deal closes in 2026, particularly for utility-scale solar and BESS jobs.
  • The move signals further consolidation in the BOS supply chain, following Arrayโ€™s APA Solar Racking purchase last year. Subcontractors bidding tracker, racking, and wiring packages together should expect Array to push bundled offerings, which could shift how EPCs structure subcontract scopes.
  • With Array eyeing the data center market for AWMโ€™s products, electrical subcontractors working data center power infrastructure should watch for new product lines or distribution channels emerging from this deal as it finalizes in 2026.
