Acteon delivers first hydraulic hammer under multi-million contract with Heerema

According to World Oil, Acteon’s Marine Foundations business line delivered the first MHU4400S hydraulic hammer system to Heerema Marine Contractors under a multi-million-pound supply agreement. The equipment will support Heerema’s offshore foundation installation and pile-driving operations, with a second hammer scheduled for delivery in October 2027.

The system includes transport cradles, specialized tools, and Menck Noise Reduction Units designed to meet environmental compliance requirements during offshore piling campaigns. Each hammer features GPS capability and integrated noise-mitigation technology.

What It Means for Subcontractors

  • Marine construction and pile-driving specialists could see increased opportunities as Heerema expands its hammer fleet capacity through 2027
  • Environmental compliance contractors may benefit from demand for noise monitoring and mitigation services during offshore foundation projects
  • Transportation and logistics providers specializing in heavy marine equipment could capture work moving these specialized hammer systems to project sites
